Francisca Pascoaes
Nightfall
We've lost our minds.
We lost, that's what it was,
when we hugged each other,
in a tide of challenges,
and despaired of the
smell of the other,
of the closeness of the other,
of the smile.
We've lost our minds.
And we lose our heads,
quickly, when, very quickly,
we face each other
with a forefinger in our noses
and the words guns in hand;
From the river we went to
There are two margins left.
My love, we have lost the "we"
that was the other
and no one saves us,
not even the tormenting
silence cooked
by precipitation
and done in haste.
