Goodbye 

You said goodbye to him

The notes cried for you...

One more B flat,

Another F-sharp.

You blamed the sun

The moon, the planet, the rivers

the abstract and the concrete...

Did you know it was set

In the Scripture of Life,

so he would die.

You planted the dream on earth

The intended immortality

When the day dawned

I knew you couldn't take it,

That you would fall

From the hum of pain

and it would rain, just like us.

And you cried my love.

And I wiped away the tears,

when you have exhausted the sobs.

And one after another, all

were the souls leaving,

Saying goodbye in this calm

and rigor mortis foreseen,

And life continued to explode

And we made autumn gain red tones

From the blood smudged with attachments 

that we always give them.
